Disclaimer & Agreement

1. Nature of these sessions

These sessions (“A Conversation with Dr. Ibrahim”) are private, educational conversations about the Islamic tradition: what the Quran and classical Islamic scholarship say about the heart, the soul, distress, anxiety, grief, waswasa, and healing. They are spiritual and educational in nature. They are not medical, psychiatric, psychological, or clinical care, and they are not psychotherapy or counseling.

2. No professional relationship

Dr. Ibrahim is a licensed physician, but in these sessions he is not acting in his capacity as a physician, psychiatrist, therapist, or licensed professional of any kind. Booking, paying for, or participating in a session does not create a physician-patient, therapist-client, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and Dr. Ibrahim.

3. Not medical advice

Nothing said in a session is medical, psychiatric, or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Dr. Ibrahim will not diagnose any condition, will not prescribe, recommend, start, stop, or adjust any medication, and will not provide a clinical assessment. Anything discussed is general and educational, is not tailored medical guidance for your situation, and must not be relied upon as such.

4. Religious content

Perspectives shared are educational reflections drawn from the Islamic scholarly tradition. They are not a binding religious ruling (fatwa), and qualified scholars may hold differing views. You remain responsible for your own religious decisions and are encouraged to consult qualified scholars you trust.

5. Seek and continue professional care

These sessions are not a substitute for care from a licensed medical or mental-health professional. Always seek the advice of your own physician or qualified provider regarding any medical or mental-health condition. Never disregard professional advice, and never delay seeking it, because of something discussed in a session. If you are currently in treatment, please continue it.

6. Emergencies

These sessions are not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, having thoughts of harming yourself or others, or experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, stop and contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately. In the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.

7. No guarantees

No specific result, outcome, benefit, cure, or improvement is promised or guaranteed. Participation is for your own reflection and education.

8. Assumption of risk, release & hold harmless

You participate voluntarily and at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that Dr. Ibrahim and any associated entities, employees, or affiliates (the “Released Parties”) shall not be liable for any harm, injury, loss, claim, or damages of any kind, whether direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential, arising out of or related to a session or to any information provided, whether or not you act on or follow any suggestion, opinion, or information, whether stated, implied, or otherwise communicated. You hereby release, waive, and hold harmless the Released Parties from all such claims, and you agree to indemnify them against claims brought by you or on your behalf arising from your participation.

9. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to book and sign. If a session concerns another person, you confirm you have the authority to discuss their situation and that no professional relationship is created with that person either.

10. Privacy & confidentiality

Because this is not clinical care, these sessions are not covered by HIPAA or medical-record protections. Dr. Ibrahim will treat your conversation as private and will not sell your information. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing, and avoid disclosing unnecessary sensitive identifiers. Sessions are not recorded unless both parties expressly agree.

11. Electronic signature & consent

By typing your full legal name and date of birth, confirming the date, checking the boxes below, and proceeding to booking, you are signing this Agreement electronically. You agree your electronic signature is the legal equivalent of your handwritten signature and that you have read, understood, and agreed to this entire Agreement.

12. Governing law, severability & entire agreement

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. This is the entire agreement between you and Dr. Ibrahim regarding these sessions and supersedes any prior understanding. It may be updated from time to time, and the version in effect when you book applies to that booking.
